Happy April! With the arrival of Spring, we turn yet another page as work continues on
the many upgrades in store for the LAFAYETTE JOCKEY LOT in 2019. A big THANK YOU
to all our Vendors for their patience as the improvements continue. Just a few of the
changes that occurred in March – new signage, lighting, removal of front canopies, a
few new food items on the menu as well as the addition of some new vendor faces-

UPCOMING EVENTS
On May 4 th & 5 th the Jockey Lot will host their “BE A BOSS” event. This event is intended
to help educate Customers and Vendors alike by encouraging individuals to recognize
the opportunity that hosting a booth allows. Who wouldn’t want the freedom to control
your own destiny, secure financial successful and become an independent business
owner! Some of our Jockey Lot success stories will be on hand with tips for success and
other valuable information on getting started. How to build a customer base, resources
available to small business owners and how to set up advertising are just a few of the
informational items that will be featured. We are also proud to announce that Liz
Choate (local celebrity) of “SWAMP PEOPLE” will be hosting a meet & greet, autograph
signing and a cookbook sale booth. It will be an exciting event you won’t want to miss!
VENDOR CONTEST
In conjunction with our May “BE A BOSS” event, Vendors are encouraged to take part in
a “SPRUCE UP YOUR BOOTH” contest. Just sign-up in the office, take a “BEFORE” photo of your booth and get to work upgrading merchandise/inventory, adding a few new display items or totally reinventing your look for a chance to win a $500 Staycation!
(Not to mention the increase in sales your new look will encourage.) We’re refreshing
our face here at the JOCKEY LOT, help yourself by refreshing yours too!
Our judges will consist of a team of 5 local business individuals and will take place at
2:00pm on Saturday, May 4th. WHAT HAVE YOU GOT TO LOSE!
